We can offer a full restoration service for all fire grates, inserts and surrounds. Cast Iron pieces can be Polished, Painted or more traditionally Blacked with Iron paste. see images for examples.
Broken or missing parts like bars & grates can be sourced and replaced or repaired in house by our expert welders. Parts can even be reproduced in cast Iron from patterns.
It is quite common that old fire bricks crack, split & crumble over time. We have the facility to repair and completely remake new firebricks if beyond repair.
Dislodged tiles can be re-set and even replaced if broken or missing.
In more recent years we have seen a trend for customers who no longer use their fireplaces (particularly in London due to the smokeless zone) but still want to retain the original features for the property. Asking us to restore & refinish fireplaces in painted finishes that match their interior decor and block off the open vents at the same time.
